Dotseom Island (8. Oct. '18)

Yesterday, I went to Jeodo Bridge. Today, I (finally) checked out Dotseom Island. This is a small island about 10 minutes off the Masan coast. You can get there via ferry at the Masan Passenger Terminal. They run ferries every half hour from 9 - 18 (8,000 Won per adult, which includes roundtrip tickets on the ferry). Supposedly, there is a guesthouse on the island, but I don't know much about it (alright, I don't know anything about it).

Let's go through the pictures.

A panoramic view of the ferry terminal.

Some people really had a ball feeding the seagulls.

Arriving at Dotseom

Climbing to the top, then glancing back at the dock.

The top of the island: statues, memorials, & flowers.

Trolley, wheelchair friendly-ish!

Hanging pedestrian bridge (really liked it)

The sign at the dock, but before we go, let's check out the other part I hadn't seen yet.

"Dot" = pig, "Seom" = island; "Dotseom" = "Pig Island.

The story of "Pig Island" (Dotseom). I didn't get it.

Walking trails around the island.

The southwestern part of the island

White Peacock (at a sort of bird & rabbit zoo (?))

One final look at Dotseom

She was able to hold out the snack, and a seagull took it from her fingers, but I couldn't film it.

"Dotseom Happy Island"
Why do they have a Mexican pig?

Nice place. I'd go back to take friends along, but probably not on my own.

Jeodo Bridge on Kwai River (7. Oct. '18)

This weekend is a long weekend for several in Korea. Tuesday is Hangeul Day, and my school gave me Monday off. I had initially planned to go up to Hokkaido, but those plans fell through. One, I had limited finances for this month. Second, Typhoon Kong-Rey decided to show up and literally join me from Korea to Hokkaido, Japan. Seriously not the best travel buddy.

Therefore, having canceled my travel plans and deciding to stay home, I needed to go and discover/visit somewhere I hadn't yet. Until now.

About a 40-min. bus ride from my place is a bridge called "Jeodo Bridge" (저도연륙교). I've heard of it and meant to visit it, but never got around to it. I decided to finally do so today.

You need to take the green bus #61, heading from (not towards) Masan Station. This bus's time schedule is very tricky, as it seems to come every 80 minutes or so. Good luck catching it. When you do, just sit back and try not to get car sick with all the curves and turns along the southern coasts.
You'll know when you get there. Just look for a bridge (or 2) with cafes/businesses/street food on both sides of it and lots of couples.

Not to insult your intelligence, but the sun was setting.
A more panoramic view of both bridges and the water.

What's a Korean tourist spot without a "love lock" corner?

In case you don't have a significant other to take couple-pictures with.

On to the Skywalk bridge!

Reinforced glass with lights.

Pretty cool (and romantic), right?

You have to wear shoe covers to protect the bridge.

Gets better at night.

Main entrance from Changwon side.

Bridge's name, just in case you weren't sure.

Short visit, but nice.
This is definitely for couples.
