JR Tower 38

I like heights, and I cannot lie.
Those who know me can't deny.
When I get the chance to go high,
And get near the sky,
My heart flies!
I feel alive!
It's a healthy kind of high.

So ... that was my meager attempt at using "Baby Got Back" by Sir Mix-A-Lot to express how much I like heights.
Anyone searching for blackmail, you're welcome (as though this blog were not enough in and of itself).

Let's look at my pictures from JR Tower 38, at JR Sapporo Station.

JR Sapporo Station in all its glory.
The tall building on the right is JR Tower 38.

Open hours

Info on the music used.

The music was beautiful and fitting.

I'm excited to go up and in.

A small model of the station and tower.

In the elevator, they keep things simple.

Look up the elevator's ceiling for orientation.

Sapporo, looking towards the . . . I forgot.

Thank you!
Now I know where all those places are!

The city laid out before you, with the mountains in the background.

I usually don't care for these, but I liked this tower so much, I went ahead and got the stamp.
The stamp is free, so no worries.

The machines where you can get a commemorative medallion.

Yeah, not the tallest; but not to be missed either.

Below is just a video slideshow of my photos and videos from JR Tower 38.

Sapporo TV Tower

Sapporo TV Tower is quite the touristy spot, but I think it's worth visiting.
Besides, I doubt whether I'll ever be able to resist heights.

There she is

This is the view from the observatory floor (90 meters/295 feet high)

Not Odori Park. It runs perpendicular to Odori Park.

Whoa, those mountains in the distance.

Odori Park stretched out before you.

Some info on the tower

I guess the mascot is the only form of decoration here?

Ah, one of those "double signs."
Here it is from the right . . .

. . . and here it is from the left.

One person's trash is another's food, I guess.

Whoa, never saw prizes this attractive in those claw machines.

I took the stairs down. Why not?

Thank you, Sapporo TV Tower. It was fun.

Here's the video slideshow of my photos and videos from Sapporo TV Tower.

Along Odori Park

Odori Park: the central point of Sapporo.

It's so interesting how this park is Sapporo's "equator." What do I mean by that? All the streets north of Odori Park are simply known as "North #" (# depends on how many blocks it is away from Odori park). Same goes for all the streets to the south. You could almost confuse addresses with coordinates (my hostel was at city block "South 3 West 8").

The eastern point of Odori Park: Sapporo TV Tower

Why are there so many ravens/crows here?
Does Sapporo love Edgar Allen Poe?

The most unafraid pigeon I met.

Looking back at the tower, 2 or 3 blocks away.

The scariest horse robot I've ever seen.

The tiniest pony I've ever seen.
Not so soft, but pleasant to touch.

A horse that doesn't even come up to waist; who knew?

Apparently, it was Octoberfest season. This was 1 of 4 I walked through.
Deutsch! Es gibt hier Deutsch! (German! There's German here!)

Panorama of the last block (12th) before the end.

Looking straight at Sapporo City Archive Museum.

My meal at Mos Burger, just a block south of Sapporo City Archive Museum.

Summer Break Destination: Hokkaido, Japan!

It's the 2nd week of school. I still haven't finished going through all of my photos and videos from my summer vacation. Oh, life.

I was in Hokkaido, Japan (Japan's north island, for those who don't know) 8. - 20. August 2019.
Considering Korea's hot and humid (especially humid) summers, I vowed during my summer vacations to take a vacation from summer. Therefore, I chose a place that intrigued me and who's most prominent city (Sapporo) happened to be parallel-ish to Vladivostok, Russia.
I'm there.

View from my window seat.

Oh, how convenient to know what kind of stall you could use!

Not sure about the 2nd one. Handicapped?

Japan and their region-specific Kit-Kats.

New Chitose Airport --> Sapporo

I took the train from New Chitose Airport to Sapporo Station in the middle of the city.
Good to know where I am.

Oh, so this is how people use the stairs here.

From Sapporo Station, I went to look for my hostel: "The Stay Sapporo Nagomi."
(Central) Sapporo city map from my hostel.

Food options from an info folder in the hostel that I wanted to remember.

They're all pretty self-explanatory, right?
