On Day 2 (Sabbath afternoon), 2 students and I were going to explore another place in Jeju's nature, but 1 had to cancel. It was the day before Chuseok, which meant her mother had to cook a lot, so she needed to help her mother. This means the other student and I went on our own.
We were actually looking for another place, but couldn't find it. So we settled for Gyorye National Recreational Forest instead. All I know is that this place is near Jeju Stone Park and MiniLand.
The map plus info signs.
The info in English.
A huge stone as a sign.
The ticketing office. Don't remember what the building in the background was.
Restrooms.
Cafe, snack shop.
Map and info on 2 trails we could walk on.
We settled for the shorter one. We didn't have much time for exploring everything, including both trails.
This is one way to administer the line going in/coming out. . .
Some of the trail.
In the middle of the forest.
Perfect serenity.
It was a big circle. We just started. It didn't take long. Besides, we were entertained with the nature and our conversation.
Yeah, this is where the path splits. I caught this as we were leaving. See the dots that branch out of the path on the map? Those are "outdoor classrooms." Let's have class here!
Ferns and a sign to explain the biology one beholds.
Is it edible? Reminds me of corn.
It's Autumn! The leaves are changing colors!
It's my favorite season! Like spring minus the flies!
Check out these roots that grew and intertwined on this tree.
A traditional thatched-roof house. If you want, you can stay here for the weekend.
There are about 8 of said houses.
stone picnic ensemble.
2 different kinds of accommodations. Which will you choose?
On our way to the "cozy cottages," I beheld this tree with a natural ladder on its side.
Said "cozy cottages."
More like apartments, right?
The wind is passing through.
Clouds.
Around 17:30 when this was taken. Within 1 hour, it was dark.
2 days down, 2 more to go . . .
