Local Summer Camp (28.July)

July 28-31 was SDALI Summer Bible Camp. July 28 was designated as a local camp day. On this day, each of the SDA institutes had their own seperate activity with all the teachers and the students who were going to attend Summer Bible Camp in the English Village.

For us in SeoCheonan, we went to Beartree Park (it has a few animals and a few botanical gardens). Afterwards, we had lunch at a restaurant named "Ashley's" in the Galleria mall/department store, right by the Cheonan-Asan KTX station. Last stop was the Folk Village in Asan. It was a nice full day.

I didn't take very many pictures because my camera was having some serious issues. I think my camera is ready to permanently retire soon.

Sadness.

Koi fish at the main pond.

They are HUGE!

I wonder how they taste fried . . .

This was where they called the petting zoo . . . but it's kinda hard to pet an animal with a cage in the way. . .

Beagles!

Bear cubs!

Bear cubs' parents . . . as they await food.

The bears' facilities

Complete with monkey bars and swimming pools!

Stop taking pictures and throw me food!!!

Deer!

A white deer?!

Whoa!

Most of us went to the top of the hill, where there was an observatory.

This was part of the view.

Another part (from behind).

Back down the hill, to the park with tons of statues of bears.

I didn't think I'd be conducting a wedding ceremony.

These bears have a thing for sling-shots.

Whoa . . . bright red.

Another koi pond, but the population is very much diluted, compared to the main one.

Black and white moment

the pond and a couple of Koi fish.

The water lily pond.

They were gorgeous, but my pictures didn't do any of them justice.

Inside the tropical garden (greenhouse).

Ah, memories of Jeju.

Look at me . . .

Never seen one of these before.

Okay, I'll put one of the water lilies up here; but I need a better camera to try to capture the beauty better.

Actually, this is a restaurant . . . although 1 of my students insisted that it was her house.

Ever thoughtful.

Looking down to the 1st floor of the restaurant (the picture of the restaurant was taken from behind, which shows only the 2nd floor).

Didn't come out quite as I hoped . . .

From the 2nd floor balcony of the restaurant, looking out to the entrance (and the main Koi pond where we started).

Ashley's!

Let's eat!

I see 1 is very ready to start eating . . .

Ready . . .

Set . . .

. . . Destroy!

An unexpected sight at the Asan Folk Village.

Apparently, someone is doing quite well.

About to walk away, when a village lady invites us to her home.

Homemade Waterlily tea.

Our hostess pouring the hot water to the tea.

Yes, we're gonna drink that.

It was nice.

As we're leaving. . .

. . . we get a little lost?

It's easy! Just straight ahead!

You can also enjoy this nice scenery on your right.

The last of the nice scenery as we leave the Folk Village.

It was a nice day . . . tiring and hot, but nice.
