Daheeyeon Park (12.Aug.'12)

On Sunday, Aug. 12th, I had the random and pleasant surprise of an excursion with two friends from church.

Before I they called and I joined, I took my own random excursion down a street I've walked on many times, but passed by 1 statue I always wanted to take a picture of. Fortunately--and quasi on purpose--I had my camera along.

They are of the women divers in Jeju.
I just really wanted to take a picture.
Maybe I'll try again, but from different angles.

Alright now, we begin with Daheeyeon Park.
It's a theme park with multiple themes: green tea garden and museum (with a cafe in a cave), zip line, and dog park. We begin with the museum (very small).

Here is a map of the world with the different ways to say "tea" in several different languages.
Can you find your language?

Stunning.

This brings me back to Archaeological Method and Theory Class.
Dr. Hasel would be proud.

The zip line (and 1 of its 4 towers)

1 passer-by
I really wanted to go, but the price was steep.

Oooooo, a cave!
(It was really hot that day, so this cave felt blissful).

Oh, a much lighted cave . . .

. . . with speakers on the pillars . . .

Ha! It's a cafe inside a cave!
GENIUS!

Hey, guys!
(my escorts)

Blast, they had to get me too.

Don't be fooled: these were HUGE.

A look inside.

almost Georgia O'Keefe style.

Part of the dog park in the same vicinity.

Huh?
Has the US Capitol gone to the dogs?
(the dog park is a type of Mini-Land with dogs).

A lovely Husky.
It was thirsty and Daniel's giving him water (from my water bottle and without permission, but I consented).

Just to let you know you're still in the theme park; no, you haven't left.

The owner's house on a hill of green tea bushes.

Want a healthy heart?
This heart is made of green tea bushes.

An overview of most of the theme park.

Ah, the other part I wanted to join.

The sun as it lies on it's mattress made of clouds.

Great fun.
Let's see what we'll do/where we'll go next . . .
