Fun Sunday (27.Jan.)

Hi guys. This past Sunday (27. Jan.) was a really fun day. I haven't had a day this fun in a long while. Let me tell you what went down, 1 picture at a time:

1st Destination: 5-Day Market

This is a local market that is open every 5 days (every day that ends with "2" and "7"). Hence on the 27th, a few students and I decided to go and check it out--then we decided to go together.

2nd Destination: Halla Mountain (not the top, just on it)

Apparently, there's a place where one can go sledding. We decided to go.

It was a lot of fun.

It was waaaay too windy, but it was still fun.

I believe it was the wind that caused these poses.

To show, we were definitely not alone.

3rd Destination: Board Game Room

This was my first time going to a board game room. I've heard of them, but I haven't had the chance to go . . . til that day . . .

We all had a great time. We could've stayed out later, but we were really tired. I hope we'll continue another day.

Wow, what do you know? Tomorrow is February . . . my last month as an SDALI teacher . . .

Sabbath adventure (12.Jan.)

Last Sabbath (Jan. 12th), the weather was indeed heavenly (no pun intended). I wanted to go out for a walk but couldn't decide where. I walked out of my apartment and then remembered a trail I was shown back in the spring. My route had been decided.

My camera shares what I witnessed on this trail.

The bridge just above the entrance to this trail (at least the entrance I was shown).

Not sure what it says or what it's for, but it looked interesting.

This isn't short. I'm walking towards the 11.8 km direction. I haven't seen where I can go on the 2.4 km section.

Wow, this was like a breath of fresh air to my eyes.

Well, so much for catching the ribbons.

Talk about holding on.

I think this is the 2nd major bridge one walks under (there were 4, I believe).

This one area really took my breath away.

I just happened to be behind this building: The Jeju Arts Center

Signs to inform . . . entirely in Korean . . .

. . . too bad I still can't understand them.

This was under the 3rd bridge.

I believe I've walked about 3 km. Just 1.7 km left? Let's do this!

Oh, now I have to cross the gorge itself . . .

. . . ok.

I'm actually more excited than I look.

Walking on the other side, I see this just beside the path on my left.

I haven't seen land like this in months.

I can't be in a city (yet I was within sight & sound of it).

The final bridge to walk under.

Ok, arrived to the end of the path . . . and I get to a paved road . . . and these 2 signs meet me.

One says I've got over 11 km yet to go, the other says only 500 m . . . and they're both pointing to the same direction . . . 

. . . confused? Yes.

I walked that way anyway.

Guess what?!

A gorge.

But look at the lines and colors on these rocks.

Dang, I find these interesting now, how ecstatic would I be if I were a geologist?

Ok, this is where I crossed . . .

. . . and saw this sign to continue.

I went up the corner a bit and saw that it didn't end within sight.

I decided that I had enough (I had walked over 5 km in trails and I needed to get back). It was starting to get dark.

Yeah, I can't get enough of these.

Wow, security or Big Brother?

Just walking, I came to this highway.

I've never walked on a new and empty highway before (not finished yet).

It didn't take very long for me to realize I didn't really know where I was. Sure, I saw a sign for the Jeju National University, so I new I was relatively close, yet I didn't know by how much.

I got out and on to a smaller street/alley with homes and businesses and was on an already used road. Nope, I didn't know this place.

Praise GOD for HE is good!

A taxi entered a business and dropped someone off. It left and was coming towards me. You bet I flagged him down! He took me to Jeju National University. 

Praise GOD. If it weren't for the taxi, I would've had A LOT to walk to make it there (about a 5 min. taxi ride).

At Jeju National University's entrance, I was checking out the different businesses and what kinds of food they had (I was hungry). Didn't take many pics here though (sorry).

The bottom sign was nice to see. It's nice to see they actually have something like this.

Ok yeah. some other facilities, but you can also see all the city buses parked behind the sign.

Hence the reason I preferred the taxi driver take me to Jeju National University. Most of the major lines begin here.

After looking around (and finding nothing to suit my taste) I boarded a bus and arrived home.

That's the end of my adventure.

I still have just under 1.5 months left in Jeju; let's see what other adventures I can have before I say, "adieu."
